This has been an incredible year for America's new Latina sweetheart (uh … move over J.Lo?!), but it only gets better in September. That's when lucky Jupiter will transit unconventional Uranus in America Ferrara's chart. She may get involved in a political campaign or doing something equally public, edgy and noble. She will only continue to impress her loyal fans.

No, she is not a passing fad. Neither the character or actress are going to fade away. While the fish-out-of-water plot isn't new, this character is. She isn't a stereotype. She is a real, flawed but tenacious character. Even better, the back-biting characters around her aren't changing into kind people; she just accepts them as they are and makes them accept her. And America Ferrera's portrayal is courageous. She goes all out, showing us a very 3-D Betty. She's not crying to be liked; she's demanding to be respected. I like this show, and this actress, very much.
