I can't believe that people didn't like this show. I watched it online and was blown away by how funny it was. I thought the writing was sharp and unexpected. So many things made me laugh really hard-- the portrait of the microwave oven, Tracy Morgan's reaction to the waiter telling him about the pumpkin ravioli, Tracy Morgan's rant about affirmative action... Perhaps this show is too smart for the audience, ala Arrested Development?

I had little hopes for this show based on the previews, which was disappointing based on the cast. However, I just watched the episode online--and I actually think this show has some serious potential. There are a lot of really funny characters and Tina Fey's writing is awesome...though I'm not a huge fan of her acting. What happened to her SNL timing?
I think, given a few more episodes this show can create a solid foundation and be successful a la the Office.
I do have a rant--what is it w/ NBC and thinly veiled mocks --studio60 under "NBS" and tracy morgan as tracy jordan

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I loved this show. From the opening hot dog scene, it re-invents the classic Mary Tyler Moore opening. Smart, and funny - this is EMMY caliber stuff, and Alec Baldwin , well you might as well hand him the Emmy right now! Congratulations, Tina for finding the funny in these sit-com challenged times.

I don't understand why Tina Fey left SNL cause obviously that was the only show she was funny on. This show was such a dissappointment....the actors are great but this thing is a big old flop!

Okay, you guys are crazy! 30 Rock is the funniest debut of the year! Maybe you have a different sense of humor than I. Ugly Betty does nothing for me, but 30 Rock is damn funny! Tina Fey is a comic genius and I am crossing my fingers that this one lasts more than a season. You guys probably didn't get Arrested Development either.

Is it me or is Tracy Morgan the most annoying person on TV? The show has potential, Baldwin is great and Fey's writing is boo-yah! But Tracy and his irritating New York affectation is boo-no!Shades of "Emiril!" and we all know how long he lasted in the network prime-time kitchen.

What an uncontrolled bore. I like the actors, but the material was tedious. Nothing was funny. I'd like to give it another chance, but there's something better on another station. The show following it, Twenty Something, was great. The two lead actors are real pros who make the material work. How can you not adore John Lithgow? This show I'll tape.

what a f____ nerve! A "straight up mentally ill" character, you all laugh at this? Try spoofing/laughing at autism! Funny huh? (would Bob Wright find this laughable??? He has an AUTISTIC grandkid) How insensitive! You offend people and families with mental illness, many of which are in your industry in NY and Hollywood.
