The best way to describe “Big Day,” (debuting tonight on ABC) is the way that we’ve been referring to it around here: “It’s like ‘24’ except it’s about a wedding and there are no spies or bombs.”
Even ABC can’t resist describing it this way on their website. The show stars Marla Sokoloff (ABC's "The Practice") and Wendie Malick ("Just Shoot Me"), as well as a few other other notable “good-to-see-s/he’s-still-working” actors. And as previously explained, it takes place at a young couple’s disastrous wedding. We wish there was anything else to say about it.
We’re deeply curious about whether the device that has kept “24” viewers watching for so long – will translate into a comedy. So we’ll be glued to our sets.
Leave us a comment -- let us know what you think. We’ll report back tomorrow afternoon.

ok, 24 + Just Shoot Me + a wedding? you're not fooling any way. It's all fluff and filler. man, who thinks up these concepts?

It was okay. I didn't find it very funny, but I feel that there is potential. I'm not sure that I see the need for the gimmick of the 24-esque presentation, but I'm willing to give it a chance. The first episode can be a difficult thing to judge. I'll give it 2 more episodes to see if it finds its footing. Besides, there's not much else on Tuesday nights.

I listened while I put Christmas decorations up in another room. I didn't find it funny enough to actually go in the living room and watch though. It had it's funny parts for those who have ever planned a wedding but seemed a bit too campy and trying too hard. I would imagine after a few more episodes not caring if they ever got married.

I watched the first episode. So far, it's really stupid. Honestly, I don't care enough about what kind of salad they have to watch them argue about it for half an hour.

I was bored for the most part. I agree with others about the salad part seeming pointless, though, I'm sure plenty of stupid and small dramas do arise on a wedding day. However, the main problem is that the two leads come off as dreadfully dull. This seems to be a common theme with both actors. Josh Cooke's last two shows were both shallow, unfunny shows with mostly forgettable casts ("Four Kings" and "Committed"). And Marla Sokoloff seems to have lost all the promise she had on "The Practice", because they could probably replace her with a cardboard cut-out and no one would notice. What a waste of a beautiful woman!

I watched this with my wife and tried the entire time to get her to change the channel. Not funny, not amusing, not well written. Just some time in my life I will never get back.
