It's no surprise Heros and Brothers&Sisters were picked up. They have great ratings. Ugly Betty, Men In Trees, and Shark haven't done bad either. I don't know anything about The Game or Jericho, Jericho seems to have a decent following. The ones that seem to be in question the most are Studio60 and Friday Night Lights. Studio60 is a good show and it's ratings remain strong, just not as good as the network would like. I'm glad they're giving it the time to develop. Friday Night Lights is in about the same boat as Studio60 from what I understand.

of all this list I've been only watching heroes, and I can't even answer on THAT. Still on the fence.

My first concern was for Jericho. I was interested from the get-go, and happily it's exceeded my expectations. It just gets better every week -- only 2 more episodes before it goes on hiatus (to return in Feb. with all new episodes), but previously aired episodes are on CBS' website. I highly recommend it-most of the people who gave it a chance are now hooked.
I also started Friday Night Lights and think it, too, is an exceptional show and cast.

Brothers and Sisters, Ugly Betty and Heroes DEFINITELY deserved to be picked up. And after getting around to watching The Book of Daniel that show should never of been canceled.

Men in trees, is okay
studio 6o and 30 rock, they're good
heroes, is good
shark, is brilliant
friday night lights, is good
“Brothers and Sisters” is okay
the only three i am concerned about is :
”Ugly Betty” (ABC)
and
“The Game” (CW)
i will say this in short :
ugly betty is ridiculus
as for the game ,
i hope that is the LAST of the spinoffs
of cw's so called "GIRLFRIENDS" franchise
because i am so fed up with them and their black comedies

I haven't watched Men in Trees, Brothers and Sisters, Ugly Betty, nor The Game (just didn't appeal to me). I think Studio 60 is a great show with a great cast and great writing, never understood why it was in jeopardy. Jericho still has me intrigued, but they need to do something to make me want to watch more, I'm getting bored with it. Heroes and Shark are good shows. Heroes has more potential to "jump the shark", so I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. Friday Night Lights is billed as a Family Friendly Christian Values show. I don't see it... A bunch of prima donna kids thinking their better than everyone else plus drinking and underage sex. Yeah, real good family show! Just can't get into it.

I sure wish they would give Studio 60 more life in advertising and give it time. It is a brilliantly written show, not condescending, smart, witty, funny, engaging etc. Matthew Perry is amazing. And when it is compared to 30 Rock I cringe. They aren't even close to being the same show.
I enjoyed Vanished because it made you think. Too much of what is on is mindless babble.

Men is Trees is pretty good. My wife seems to enjoy it. It is actually pretty funny sometimes.
Studio 69 and Heroes are great. I have really enjoyed them now that I know the characters and the stories have taken off. You should definatley check them out.
My new FAVORITE show is Jericho. I can not wait for this to come on every week. The story is great, especially with everything going on in the world today and with all of these other countries hating us Americans it really draws you in. I just wish other people would catch on to this show and check it out because I know you will keep watching. Plus, who doesn't want to see Steven Dorf and the guy from Major Dad(TV-Series 1989-1993) save Kansas and possibly the entire United States...lol.

Jericho is very good, just have not had the time to watch it. Studio 60 lost me after the 2nd episode, I was not interested in seeing anymore of it.

Ugly Betty is not only ridiculous and not funny, it's also boring. Vernessa Williams and all the other characters are sooo over the top that their not even remotely believable.
Men in Trees” (ABC), mildly funny but no thanks to Anne Heche, she still can not act. Nor do I think she has a following. The men are the funny ones.
“Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC)- Great Show! ABC may be disappointed in ratings, but it can not be disappointed in Alan Sorkin's writing and writing staff - it's the best (shy Boston Legal) in Network TV - which is never as good as HBO.That lead blond woman needs to go. She has no chemistry with Matt Perry or with anyone else on the show and REALLY this should be Bradley Whitford's show . . he's much more interesting.
“Jericho” (CBS)- DOn't know show, never watched it - it must be bad.
“Brothers and Sisters” (ABC) - Calista Flockheart and lots a wimpy men and women . . . a evening soap opera - Doesn't the network know that Soap Operas are on their last leg??
”Ugly Betty” (ABC), - See Comment above.
“The Game” (CW)- Too stupid for me to follow it.
“Heroes” (NBC)- Good show - but it's got to get a bit faster paced.
“Shark” (CBS)- Love James Woods, hate the pretense of a "House" like "do good" rebel in the Prosecutors' office. - Would be better if he were a defense attorney . . . much more believable.
“Friday Night Lights (NBC)- I half-way liked the movie, and I've never watched the TV show . . .could be good but I don't know it.

It looks like most of my new faves have been picked up - Jericho (finally something post-apcolyptic without mohawks and face paint), Friday Night Lights, Men in Trees (reminds me of the best of Northern Exposure & Picket Fences), Brothers & Sisters (great cast), Weeds, wish I knew the fate of Dexter (great Showtime series, I highly recommend it simply for the intelligence factor). Sorry to hear about The Nine - I guess they didn't cover the storyline fast enough, but I enjoyed the way it was telling its story.

For a while, Men in Trees was on your list for possible demise - I was hoping it would be gone quickly. Ann Heche is terrible, and after the first week I chose not to watch. Of course now it will get higher ratings, it's on after Grey's Anatomy!

Heroes and Studio 60 are the best shows on TV. To even consider cancelling is absurd! Tired of cops and legal shows! Taking off shows like Kidnapped and Six Degrees before they had the chance to pick up a following was even more absurd!

I'm a little behind the ball here, but couldn't resist a rebuttle re: Ugly Betty. Do people not understand that the characters are SUPPOSED to be over the top and the style of the show is SUPPOSED to be a bit campy? That's what makes it so unique and wonderful. A full season pick up is well deserved. I just thank God I have a dual tuner Tivo.
