When DeathWatch was launched in late September, the Anne Heche relationship drama “Men in Trees” shot directly to the number one spot. It debuted in a Friday night timeslot, it was criticized as a “Northern Exposure” rip-off, and it was a vehicle for Anne Heche. So there was plenty of reason to assume that it would be cancelled soon into it’s first season. Last night, ABC asked for a full order of the show, and moved it to Thursday nights -- the spot previously reserved for “Six Degrees.”

"Six Degrees" -- which show is that? Well, the “every New Yorker is connected because they’ve slept with someone or robbed them and we’re all fundamentally sad people” drama has failed to capture an audience, and the show's ratings have plummeted (a 7.3 premiere down to a 3.1 this week), even with a lead-in from ratings powerhouse “Grey’s Anatomy.” ABC has said that they will “probably” bring it back in January, but they’ve failed to give a date. We’ve placed it in a coma.

Remember, you've got just three more days to vote in this round of the Fall '06 Deathwatch. There could be a video iPod or a flat screen TV in your future!

I really hope this show does NOT get cancelled... I really like this show alot. I like the characters and I like the plots. It is good television. I do not blame it, I blame Shark and ER for being on the same time as it is because if they were not on, I know people would discover this lost gem in TV!

Six Degrees is a great show! I hate to see it go. What ABC should do is not even waste our time airing Day Break and put Six Degrees in that time slot.

Happy to see that Men in Trees is getting a boost; Six Degrees is a snooze fest.

WHAT IS ABC THINKING????? Who cares about "Six Degrees" - I wasn't that impressed with the show, but it was on Thursday night where CSI & SHARK reign in our book! My husband and I really enjoy "MEN IN TREES" and liked it's Friday night slot when nothing else is on. So now ABC is cancelling "Six Degrees" and moving "Men in Trees" to Thursday. ARE THEY CRAZY!?!?!?! It will get killed being against CSI and Shark. Their (ABC) only hope of getting any share on Thursdays is to put "MEN" on at 8p/7p CST ... before the CSI/SHARK two-hour block. If ABC does move the show and put it against CSI or SHARK, it's dead! Permanently!

I can't say enough good things about Men in Trees! I look forward to it every week and since I'm a wholly devoted fan, I can unabashadly say that I LOVE Marin & Jack, Annie & Patrick and the rest of the gang. To me, they're more than characters, they're friends. The writer's have created relationships and issues I want to be involved with and the production team creates an atmosphere that makes me feel welcome in Elmo, Alaska every Friday night. Please stay Men in Trees!

Michaela wrote:

I loved Six Degrees because of its cast and while the plots and sub-plots became weak, it had potential and it seemed they were finally going in the right direction with the show... Steven was about to share a kiss with Whitney and a relationship between them would be much more interesting than his sleeping with a 25 year old that had more in common with his 12 year old son. Whitney's new best friend was about to discover her photograph taken by Whitney's (possible), new love interest and she was going to have her first date since losing her husband. Arresting Mae's brother wouldn't have stopped her ex-thug boyfriend from coming after her, keeping her DA boyfriend confused and at bay while he also tries to help his friend re-unite with his girlfriend by trying to help him get out of trouble which proves to be a more difficult task. And, of course, at some point, all of these people would have to cross paths in ways other than passing one another on the street. I'm no writer, obviously, but I know when I like what's possible. I hope they bring back Six Degrees, even if it is in a different time slot on a different night. I hope they don't wait until December!

I can't understand everyone is staying home to watch Gray's Anatomy CSI at 9p.m. Thursdays. And all of a sudden It's as if the audience vanished off the face of the earth. Like 6 Degrees only got just over 3 in the ratings.

Sunny wrote:

I'm so sorry that ABC has made the decision to pull 6 Degrees and replace it with Men In Trees. I thought that the concept of "6" was fresh and new, and enjoyed getting to know the characters and how they all intermingled with one another. I'm hoping that ABC will see the error of their ways soonand bring it back, and get rid of the horrible show, Men In Trees. While I'm in a semi-vent/rant, I'd like to also say that "The Nine" isn't half-bad either, and I'm hoping it stays on as well.

Tammy wrote:

However I'm excited to see Men in Trees in surviving the "coma" but I love Six Degrees and it's sad that it's not doing better in Ratings. It's a fun show and was a good replacement for me after losing Alias last year on ABC. It was just getting into the characters and storyline. I hate to see it go and hope it can be revived. It was good writing and up against ER as well.

Heather wrote:

THis was a great show but I would never have seen it if it wasn't for my DVR. I agree that they coma was induced by a REALLY bad time slot!!

carrie wrote:

Men in Trees surprisingly grew on me and I'm very glad not to see it die.

iroxv wrote:

Although I like Men in Trees, I don't want it to replace 6 degrees.
I got hooked by watching the pilot at the abc web site and set my dvr to record the season. I love the characters and want to know what's going to happen to them. I was so looking forward to seeing Laura find the photograph Caseman took of her. Now I have to wait till Jan - ugh!

What the hell ABC? Six Degrees was a good show and now I am really getting into the peoples lives and how they are all connected. I am hooked. I loved it on after Grey's Anatomy, it was the perfect show right before I went to bed. ABC I hope you will get enough mail against getting rid of it and BRING IT BACK.

Crystal wrote:

I dont really like anne heche, she kind of sucks as an actress. I am hoping they keep 6 degrees, I love this show. I want to see the whole ideas. I hope they are smart enough to realize the show is really good.

Amy T wrote:

I loved 6 Degrees!! I am so upset that they took it off...and I really thing the Men In Trees show is stupid. At least 6-degrees had interesting plots. Men In Trees is lame.

Paula Picasso wrote:

What is ABC thinking??? They never give new shows a chance to develop an audience. Commander in Chief was a great show and it went into dreaded hiatus, only to be canceled shortly after. Now they 86 both The Nine and Six Degrees after giving viewers a chance to get to know the characters so we'll be extra disgruntled that we never learn their fates? And where have they misplaced "Lost?" I'm sure when they bring it back after dumping Day Break they'll show about five reruns before airing any new episodes. I just don't understand how networks think that replacing a show with potential with a rerun, a "news magazine," some ridiculous game or reality show is a smart move. Not everyone in TV land is a mindless nimrod. Some viewers actually like to watch character driven dramas, not reality shows. And while I'm on a rant, how in God's name can American Idol be a top rated show? It's an inane karaoke contest. And then these no talent schmucks get record contracts, PUHLEEZE!!!

Chris wrote:

Give 6 degrees a chance. I really liked the show and was just getting to know the characters. Change the night it's on if you have to, but give it some time to get established. Please do not cancel the show, ABC.

I love Six Degrees! I came here just to find out where the heck it is...ABC, you would be crazy to cancel this show! I can't get past all I know about Anne Heche's kooky personal life, so I will NOT be watching Men in Trees. I loved the cast and plot lines of Six Degrees ~ PLEASE keep it on after Grey's Anatomy! Don't let us down out here!!!

I can't stand men in trees, who cares about a girls lovelife in alaska. Six Degrees is or was a great show i just love how all the characters some way or another were connected. brilliant!! it just goes to show you, you never know how you effect other lives, anyway I hope the show comes back in Jan. and get rid of all the loose ends

MEN IN TREES is ADDICTIVE!!! This is the ONLY show that I faithfully watch! At first, I wasn't sure about Anne Heche. But, the excellent writing, storyline, additional cast and characters, great acting and Anne's great acting has won me over.ABC: Please Keep this SUPERB program on.
P.S. Plow Guy~ You are HOT!!!

Six Degrees was so boring. And I don't know why they thought they could keep a college age audience after Grey's Anatomy. People stay in on Thursday to watch Grey's, but come 10pm thirsty thursdays take over. You need a better quality show than Six Degrees to keep the Grey's audience from going out and turning off the tv as soon as Grey's is over.
