We asked about “Help Me Help You” (ABC) and “The Class” (CBS) in Friday’s Remote Round-up. These shows have consistently sat at the top of the cancellation list on the DeathWatch: Midseason Edition. When we came in to work this morning, we discovered that “Big Day” (ABC) had jumped to the number two position with odds of cancellation at 5:1.
That’s a pretty big jump for a few days worth of votes, DeathWatchers really seem to have it out for that show. In fact, our readers seem to hate it almost as much as “Help Me Help You.” Folks on the community board have posted a lot of comments to this effect, and our remote roundup yielded this comment from poster L.A.:
“’Help Me Help You’ is unwatchable. I watched the first 3-4 episodes, and it got worse with each passing week.”
In it’s last showing, the show earned a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. We hope for the sake of all involved, that something drastic happens to the Ted Danson “I’m a grumpy but loveable psychiatrist” comedy.

I tried watching "The Class" because I was intrigued by the concept, but the writing is just plain bad, so is the acting. I still haven't forgiven the writers for that awful "Yogurt" episode.

Honestly, "The Class" isn't that bad. Yes, it needed some time to gel, but it really is getting better every week and the patience that CBS has had with it might start to pay off as at least online I've noticed that the tides are starting to change in favor of this show.
I'm actually quite depressed that I have to wait three weeks for the next new episode if that tells you anything.
I also think the acting is fine for a sitcom. There are a few performers who can be over the top, but most are finding their groove quite nicely.
As of today "Help" has already gotten the boot and honestly, I see "Big Day" and "Day Break" also getting kicked to the curb before "Class".

I think Big Day's doomed as well. The ratings have been lousy. It looks like they're just burning off the episodes.

I don't always have time to watch it, but the few episodes I've seen have been funny and entertaining. There is certainly worse out there that continues to be on the air and there are so many good shows that die way to young!

Not much on my mind these days. I've just been letting everything wash over me recently, but so it goes. Pfft.
