There are a lot of familiar faces in ABC’s new sitcom, In Case of Emergency—David Arquette, Jonathan Silverman, Greg Germann, Kelly Hu, and Lori Loughlin. Unfortunately, none of them are playing very likeable characters.
Four high school classmates are brought together, 20 years later, by their own simple twists of fate. Diet guru Germann falls off the diet wagon and gets arrested for hijacking a snack food truck when his wife abruptly leaves him. Smarmy businessman Arquette shoots himself in the foot while contemplating suicide.
Whiny sensitive guy Silverman visits a massage parlor (not the therapeutic kind) and runs into his class valedictorian (Hu) as the masseuse (not the therapeutic kind). They all find themselves in a sudden case of emergency and wondering whom to call (hence the title—get it?). You’re going to wish they had all gotten a wrong number.
Throw in a cute doctor (Loughlin) and an abusive cop boyfriend for Hu and you have the feel-bad comedy of the year. And it’s only January 3!

This one is an odd one. The critics (and you) ripped it to shreds. However, from what I gather online from the few people that watched it, they really liked it. Maybe it was low expectations?
Either way I expect it to be gone quickly. When it can only garner 6 million for the premiere opposite a night of repeats, it isn't long for this world. Just wait until American Idol hits it.

This show is an abomination. If you thought "Help Me, Help You" was bad(I didn't, but alot of people did)then you need to just watch the pilot episode of
this new series and I guarantee you that you'll be turned off by it before it even reaches the midway point(middle of the program, for you dropouts). I literally fell asleep 3 times while trying to get through the pilot because it was so boring and unfunny. The cast is full of familiar faces such as David Arquette(The Scream movies), Jonathan Silverman(Weekend at Bernie's 1 & 2), Kelly Hu(TV's Nash Bridges, X2), Greg Germann(TV's Ally McBeal), and Lori Loughlin(TV's Full House) - but they all seem to be miscast here. The premise for the show is the usual recyclable storyline about former schoolmates reunited through some wacky situation(Sorry, but I'd take CBS's The Class over this crap - at least that reunion was somewhat original). Overall, I don't see this show lasting longer than 4 episodes(Granted it will probably get tanked after 2)- its a filler show with nothing to provide, a quick cancellation I foresee.

I actually enjoyed the premiere last night. I'm not ready to hail it as a success just yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode with an open mind.... if there is a next episode.

This was awful! It actually hurt to watch it! I can't imagine it'll last more than one or two episodes. The premise is stupid. The only character with any redeeming value, humor or otherwise, was David Arquette's...and that's a stretch.

The difference between "In Case Of Emergency" and "The Class" is that the latter at least tries to have a heart while ICoE seems to have already hit a flatline. Hopefully the network has signed a do not resuscitate order...

I agree with you Brendan. I finally caught the pilot ep. of this show last night and that's how I see it too. Part of why I like "The Class" is that there is darkness and some twisted stuff going on of course, but there also seems to be an underlying sweetness and charm, which I sort of like.
With this, it was not only crass but most of the characters seem like such jackasses that I don't care. It's like I feel like they sort of deserve their ridiculous plights.

I have to give this one a big thumbs down. It threw these characters at us, then just beat us over the head with one twist after another, which was pointless, because we don't care about anyof these characters to begin with.

i agree with steinmiller, this show is an abomination, who would want to sit on their butts for 30 mins and listen to some cranky schoolmates
my advice: skip this show, and watch the class
the class is way more funnier than this piece of garbage

I liked it and will watch it again this week. The only thing it has in common with "The Class" is that they all went to school together. It's not like they are all meeting for the first time in 20 years - they've been friends the entire time. I guess I can relate, since my best friends are people with whom I went to high school. I enjoyed this show more than 'Prosperity'.

We watched it and actually liked it. Then again, it was right after watching "The Knight's of Prosperity" so I think a funeral would have probably struck as a "roaring good time" after that half hour show. We'll try it again this week after NOT watching KoP and see how it does.

Okay so the show isnt all that, but it is funny...what kind of credits are u guys goin' around Bashing a new show which i must admit is hilarious..It dont need no fake laught tracks to make it a great show..It's unique on it's own..Why not keep ur writing into ur brains and let us the viewers decide if good or not. And if i must add Will&Grace wasnt that funny but it had it's nine years run. Not every homos glued themselves on thursday night on their beds to watch that show..Lack of colors, break out characters and simple not so minded dump girlie jokes..Emergency is special..and u ought to just keep ur dumb stoopid comments to yourselves..Friends sucked as well..No reason the NBC network had to let this money hungry calling themselves actors out the door. Thanks for that (NBC).. Emergency just like the other show The Knights of whatever,Help me Help u are great show not to be miss...it isnt fair to only focus on youth viewers..This isnt porn.
P.S. I know this comment has to be approved by the owner before it's posted..Why not..go nut..erase my commnet..but know this..These shows are struggling .True. But give it a great promotion like abc does Lost and Dancing with the Stars..And u'll see how well it'll work. Whys is it easy for ABC to throw these 24 7 ad for lost everyday and not the other shows..Only when they day come up to appear that night..Ask yourself that. I watch tv on my day off and whenever All My Children goes to commercial Lost has to be Mentioned and the other shows seem to take backseat.. It's like the two other girls in the gropu Destiny Childs..It's says Childs and Not Beyonce..Wrong way to have a show not make it..No good ads are being sold..the stars arent goin to late night shows..only those Lost stars..whatever their names are..are getting the publicity they do not deserve..ENOUGH SUCK UP..let the other shows SHINE. Merci.

Give me a Break! I seriously loved this show and thought it was the funniest, freshest comedy on TV for years. Yes, it was bent, but so what? Great writing and casting. But, when I like a show, it is, more than likely, destined to be cancelled.
I'll just picture the finale in my mind and find them all to be better off in the future or just as screwed up as they were, cause that is what made the show GREAT!
