Earlier this week, we asked Deathwatchers to tell us which shows they think should still be on the air. We got a lot of responses, though a clear leader never really emerged. Nevertheless, we thought we'd take the opportunity to share your comments.
Viewers seem to really miss “Justice” on Fox, including DeathWatcher Brian, who wrote " I thought it was just okay at the beginning, but as it continued, it started to impress me, if at very least because of interesting characters and use thereof."
We took a walk down DeathWatch memory lane to figure out what went wrong. Though "Justice" is still listed in a coma, the odds of it coming back to air seem very low at this point.
After being moved from a Wednesday timeslot to a Monday timeslot, the show was pulled entirely from the air in November. Fox promised to return the show to air in December, a promise that we mistakenly assumed would never happen. Our readers have informed us that indeed, four episodes were aired...(thanks, DeathWatchers!)

As far as "Justice" goes, FOX are idiots for cancelling it - the last 2 episodes before it completely vanished from the schedule were outstanding especially "The X-Mas Party" episode. I do hope the show returns and that they put it back on Mondays along with the returning "Prison Break". I'm really concerned about ABC though because the last 2 years, in my opinion, they've dished out the best programming but this past tv season I couldn't believe some of the stupid decisions they have made. "The Nine" is one of the best new shows I've seen and just when it starts to get really great ABC puts it in hiatus - What were they thinking!. The same can be said of "Six Degrees" another hiatus trapped show on ABC that was very underrated and never should have been pulled from the air so early into its initial run. The biggest screw-up though goes to ABC again for pulling "Day Break" - a show that had a 12 episode only commitment from the network. They aired 5 episodes(not 3)and then decided to take what they promised and also stuck the show in hiatus - unbelievable!. "Day Break" unlike the other 2 ABC shows hooked me from the start with its great 2 HR pilot and continued to impress me with each new episode. I had my doubts about it as a temporary replacement for "LOST", which is on a break currently, but the show in my book turned out to be a great watch and its not fair that ABC pulled it so quickly from the line-up. Finally, I want to bring up the most ridiculous cancellation of the year: CBS's Smith. CBS hardly plugged the show or aired ads to hype its debut then to make matters worse they cut the show short just when the pace starts to pick-up towards the end of the 3rd episode. Normally, I give CBS the benefit of the doubt because they usually give their new shows a chance to build an audience but this was just uncalled for and I hope they don't pull something like this later on down the line.

Hey, Dork, "Justice" DID come back on the air in December, as I watched all 4 eps broadcast then, but alas, it disappeared sometime around Christmas, with no sign of returning; NOT in November, a Duh! I miss it, but with the AI juggernaut coming round the mountain, they dont need Justice, Standoff, and esp missed was Vanished! GO EAGLES!!!-also on Fox!

Justice was extremely a GREAT show. I really wish I could meet the people whom deciede to make these crazy decisions. When the going gets tough FOX just rolls. Unlike the show Vanished, Justice was so much better. Then again people are doing some crazy things. Frankly FOX should just air the news and then be a dead broadcasting channel. Lately they have made some stupid decisions including cancelling Justice and the OC. However Dan I must agree with you in regads to Day Break and a poor decision made on cancelling that show. Hey you knuckle-headed networks, could you at least allow the season to be completed prior to cancelling it. There are a few people out there that watch the show and get into them. When your ratings are 0; then cut the show because apparently it wouldn't be missed. So thus far 4 people watched Justice and 2 watched Day Break. Well I hope Taye Diggs will be in another TV show that airs every week. HOT DIGGITY!! Kerr Smith was awesome in Justice and I loved to see the end when the crime was played out and they had my attention from the very first episode.

In response to Kristine, yes I know "Justice" came back for 4 episodes but this website broke the news about those episodes being the final 4 for its initial run after it was announced that FOX had no interest in keeping the show around for a full season.

Ha, so this is really quite funny that i ran across this article as i watch and love ALL the shows that it mentioned! I was a huge everwood fan and so i tried out pretty much every single new show this year to help with my everwood depression..and of course, almost all the ones i liked didn't make it!
i liked Justice the most of course, i'm so upset that it couldn't find an audience, but when you move around a show that many times what can you expect?! fox was really unfair to justice, the cast was amazing, the writing was amazing, if it could have had a steady time slot and if it could have stayed on long enough into the season to get the american idol lead in, it would have found an audience for sure!
ughh..six degrees was kind of slow starting, and there were a lot of story lines and characters you had to follow (the same with the nine) but a few episodes into the season it started to improve. i never got really attached but maybe if they didn't go on a two month hiatus i would have been able to. i never got really hooked on the nine either but i still watched it every week, and i felt like it was getting better as well.
then there was day break. i thought day break was going to be a really stupid show and that it would never work. but one day i decided to watch the first episode online to see what it was like and then i was hooked right from the start. it had like the same kind of intense feeling that 24 has and i just loved everything that was happening. i won't care that they pulled the show early if they put the episodes online like they promised. i just NEED to know what is going to happen! i really liked knowing that everything was going to get all wrapped up in 13 episodes..and then they pulled it off the air. oy.
and now the oc is getting cancelled! how much worse could tv get right now?!

Here, here regarding Day Break! ABC is stupid for not letting this show run its course! When 24 first started Fox promoted it constantly and when it didn't start out with a bang, they reran it on Fridays and also on FX constantly until the audience started to build. Day Break could have been salvaged with this same strategy! It has the same break-neck pace as 24 does and since it has the Groundhog Day thing going, literally anything can happen to anyone except for Taye Diggs. It started strong and continued to add layers of intrigue as it went along. I was really looking forward to what was going to happen each episode and wanted to see how he managed to resolve it. ABC's tagline was that it was going to have a beginning and end, which made it all the more interesting because I knew we'd get to see a resolution. Now they've taken it off the air. They really are too impatient when it comes to developing a show.

I'm still bitter about Arrested Development! In a tv world where Seinfeld is forced on us as the "greatest show of all-time", I find the only thing that was brilliant about it was to move it to Thursday night. Frasier reminds us that good writing and acting will sometimes be rewarded. Sorry back to Arrested Development! Ok, I will the first to admit that you do have to have at least a 120 IQ to understand it. However, that just explains the long runs of Yes Dear and Everybody Loves Raymond (married Seinfeld). It is truly shocking to me that people watch that same crappy formula shows over and over again. It is a shame when we get a show outside of the norm, it is cancelled. Thank god we live in the age where we can buy broadcast tv. Check it out.

I am so bummed that Justice could be cancelled. I never missed it. I especially loved that it gave us the opposite viewpoint of all the Law and Orders and I thought it was clever that we never knew if the clients were guilty or not until the re-enactment of the crime at the end of the show.
As an aside, I really miss Kidnapped, too

I can't believe that the only really adult program on FOX and they cancelled it! With all the other nonsense they've put on the air it's no wonder that a thought provoking progam like JUSTICE didn't make it.
FOX, please bring it back and try another day or time if necessary. If you won't bring it back, then I think a network w/more clout and prestige should pick it up!

That's TV anymore, they expect it to have the highest rating, or it's cancelled, but of course Daybreak didn't have ratings, it was going up against Criminal Minds, and even Lost was losing to that. What was ABC thinking? I think the worst part was how they said that they would release thru ep 10 on abc.com week by week, then after 1 week of that, the show disappears from the website, as if it never existed. Do they really think we are that stupid?

RIP Justice! Another moronic move by increasingly moronic network execs...you would think that if there was someone smart enough at the network to put these smart shows on, they would be smart enough to give them a chance. Alas, that would be asking to much, I'm afraid.

Hopefully, Justice will not be cancelled. It is such a cleverly written show and there is nothing remotely like it on television. Although there are rumors of cancellation, there have been multiple newly aired episodes since December and as late as last week. The episodes were being shown on Fridays at 9pm eastern time. So maybe the network will have a change of heart!

Hold on people. It isn't like Justice was the the greatest show in the history of television. I watched 3 episodes and "Pretty good" is about as far as I can go to praise it. The cases were interesting each week, and creatively presented, however the acting was WAY over the top and every one of the characters on the show was entirely unlikeable. Hard to keep watching a show when you have zero sympathy for anyone on it.

It may be because I'm a 3rd year law student but I loved Justice. My boyfriend (the journalist) also enjoyed it, because you got to see what really happened at the end of the show. I would have liked the twist of getting someone guilty off - in every episode I saw they always chose the perfect clients. I watched all the episodes in December and had every episode recorded on my DVR. Not every show is going to appeal to everyone but I thought this one had an interesting take on being a lawyer. Every other show is prosecutor centered it was nice to have a defense point of view.

I was skeptical about Justice before it began, but once it started I was hooked on this fresh take on the crime drama genre. Proof positive that it is a well written and well acted show is the fact that I forgot all about Victor Garber's character on Alias...he WAS a hard nosed lawyer in Justice! It would have been easier to form a fan base if they hadn't moved it all over the schedule. I kept having to search for it just to watch it, and even brilliantbutcancelled.com missed the fact that episodes aired in December, and you guys track this stuff! If FOX cancelled it, it was premature.
I'm also disappointed that ABC is not airing the remainder of the season of Daybreak online somewhere. It's becoming extremely disappointing to begin a new serial series only to be left hanging mid-season. FOX did a horrible job of tying up loose ends on its online webcasts of Vanished. Both ABC and FOX should take lessons from NBC. The cancellation of Kidnapped on television was followed up with the remainder of the short 13 episode season online. They did a bang-up job of ending the series appropriately. Other networks should take note.
