We were shocked (yes, shocked!) that ABC will be returning "Six Degrees" to their schedule in March. Although they will be returning the show to a Friday night at 10pm timeslot, we're still unsure about the future of the show. We really didn't think this show would see the light of day again, but sure enough...ABC has made good on their promise to return the show to air.
Does this mean they'll be bringing back "The Nine" as well?
There was actually a lot of movement at ABC last week. The network has decided to shelve the Anne Heche-led comedy "Men In Trees" for up to six weeks as it introduces "October Road." That show will premiere in a few weeks (March 15th) and stars "One Tree Hill" alum Bryan Greenberg (thanks readers!) as a writer who returns to his hometown and is confronted by his former friends and neighbors who are the basis for his best-selling novel.
For now, let us know what you think of "The Black Donnelly's" tonight on NBC? It's currently ranked at number 7 on the DeathWatch, with odds of cancellation at 52:1.

Just making a quick note / addendum to your mention of ABC's "October Road". Bryan Greenberg was on "One Tree Hill" not "The O.C." However, the more interesting aspect of his career's rise would have to be his participation on HBO's short-lived "Unscripted".

The writing was very sharp and the characters (as much as they can be in a Pilot) were compelling. I found myself hating when they went to a commercial. Now whether or not they can keep it so good beyond one episode remains to be seen. Also, I hope that they planned out the storylines beyond five episodes. Nothing is worse than those "Lost" moments where you wonder if monkey's came up with the storyline because the writers couldn't think of anything. Loved the show.

I had already posted about the show when the overwhelmingly milquetoast reviews came in, but I still stand by what I said, I thought it was very compelling.
I had heard that Moresco and Haggis originally set the show inthe 70s, which I think would have been even better. Think of all the Vietnam War parallels that could have played out as b and c stories behind the story of the Donnellys.
Well, I'm sure that Kevin Reilly in his infinite wisdom thought that would put off some viewers. Who does he think watches this stuff? If 10 mil of the 300 million Americans show up, he's a hit, yet he waters down the show so that it's interesting to fewer and fewer.
I'm gonna hang in there with this one.

The Black Donnellys is another exquisite take on the Irish mob by the EZ Streets team. There were even some homages to EZ Streets scattered through the pilot. The Black Donnellys pilot episode built throughout to an unexpected, emotionally charged conclusion. It deserves to survive and thrive. With the Heroes lead-in, the Black Irish have a decent chance at ratings success. Those that try it are likely to get hooked based on the early feedback.

There seems to be a growing trend in America: broadcasters inundating us with
mental junkfood in the form of tv shows that cater to the lowest common denominator.
Why cancel a great, well written show like TBD, in lieu of some mindless crap like "Thank God you're here"?
I mean what is the justification?
TBD was a show that took the time for character development, had excellent visual direction and actually
engaged the viewer on a level rarely seen on network television.
This is not the first time this happened, remember Arrested Development?
Canceling that show had to be the single most irritating move by Big Network.
Now they just jam crap down our gullets, like American Idol, Deal or no Deal, blah blah blah the list goes
on and on…
I would appeal to the broadcasters of America to please realize that there are people out there capable and intelligent enough to enjoy high quality interactive programming as opposed to mindless one-liner sitcom crapola simplified for mass consumption- the special ed equivalent of understanding. You are insulting our intelligence with your patronizing attempts at entertainment. You are hindering our development and dumbing down the next generation. By exporting this shit abroad you are showing a stupid, crass, and uninspired American face to the world. Have some respect for your viewers and cut this shit out!
