"Knights" Days End

The latest casualty in the ongoing ratings bulldozer that is "American Idol" has been taken down.

This morning, ABC announced that they are pulling "The Knights of Prosperity" from the air -- effective immediately (after it scored an average 1.9 rating in the 18-49yo demographic).

We were excited when we first heard about this series, and disappointed to learn that ABC had decided to hold it until midseason. The show premiered on January 3rd, along with the Lori Laughlin, Jonathan Silverman sitcom "In Case of Emergency" (still on the air).

Originally titled “Let’s Rob Mick Jagger,” "Knights" was centered around a group of self-described misfits and losers who aim to achieve fame and glory by robbing celebrities.

We've moved the show into a coma. Will it come back? ABC's "Six Degrees" did, so who knows? If you voted for "Knights" this week, you're eligible to win a Video iPod!

I'm sad. I really liked this show. That's all.

Too bad but could there be a tougher time slot than being up against Idol?

ABC maintains the show will be back. I tend to believe them because the next episodes feature a guestshot by Ray Romano which would probably draw in decent ratings.

I hope it comes back. The show kept improving and was very funny. ABC shouldn't base a cancellation when going against Idol. There are many of us who just don't like Idol, so give us some options.

i'm so bummed! this show totally rocked. what's up with the crap all over TV, then when one good show comes, they smash it? wtf? seriously.

What a load of crap this is! "In Case of Emergency" survives(for now)and "Knights" gets canned(as far as we know)because of American Idol(worst show ever)- BS!

NOOOOOO!!!!! I can't believe it! Just another example of how a well written and executed show is too good for its own good. I guess I'll just have to read books now on Wednesday nights as well.

How come no mention of the upcoming show DRIVE on Fox?
What is it? Shouldn't it be added to Deathwatch???
Thanks!

I've been doing your contest, for a very, very long time. Suddenly, 4 weeks ago, when I hit the spot, that says place a bet. I get that standard page that says this page cannot be found. I hit the refresh button, but it doesn't help. Then I go to the very bottom of the page, where it says take me out of the contest, and when I hit that, I get the same "This page cannot be found" Since I can't vote anymore, can you remove me from your contest. I can't vote or remove you, from my e-mail.

About time. This show should have ended long ago. And as for In Case of Emergency. I would change my vote right now, if I hadn't voted for Knights. So much talent, so little humor.

Thank goodness this show is gone. What a waste of a time slot.

Hi,

I am sad also about this show being cancelled or put on life support, I really liked the "The Knights of Prosperity" a lot, I thought it would be around for years & years, not just months. I hate American Sucky Idol, this really sucks big time.

It's a shame that ABS cancelled this show - every week was better than the previous and it was just starting to catch some buzz. For viewers like me who HATE AMERICAN IDOL WITH A PASSION, if networks keep pulling good shows because they are not the top in the time slot... well it will just continue to backfire. Personally, "According to Jim" is just as bad as watching American Idol, so ABS has lost my family's viewling in this time slot. Looks like its back to HBO until "Lost" comes on. ABC heads...bring this show back. It was worth it.

This show only kept on getting better and you think they could have marketed the celebrity component (Mick Jagger, Kelly Rippa, Ray Romano) effectively but it seems like they didn't give it a chance. By comparison In Case of Emergency is some of the most cringe worthy writing I've ever heard not too mention a directionless plot.

that's horrible news! this is one of the only shows on tv nowadays that actually makes me laugh out loud! (how i met your mother being the other one.) it would be a huge mistake for abc to drop it. move it to another time slot! plus american idol will be moving down to two days, so that should help. please don't cancel knights of prosperity!!!

This sucks - I loved this show. Who can I write to to complain? If you know somewhere I can protest please let me know - like when Arrested Development had to post www.getarrested.com Seriously why are the smart shows getting cancelled, but we get 79 seasons of Survivor where they do the same damn things? Please, please don't cancel this show!!

This is bunk. Daybreak and now Knights. This drops wednesdays right off the list. ABC needs to give closure on its freakin' shows before they just drop them. At least they could give us a short story of where they were going. It is obvious that ABC doesn't respect the audience they have in any way, shape, or form.

I am also very disappointed. I also thought this show was getting better and better every week and my husband and I were ready to see what happed with Oswald and Kelly Ripa! I even boycotted AI this season and it seems like there is nothing to watch if AI is on the air.
It sucks!

I cannot believe that ABC cancelled this show. I really thought this show was consistantly funny, unlike some other so-called comedies. With all the garbage on TV, I finally found a terrific comedy; and "bamm" it's gone! Hopefully they will reconsider. Go figure!!!!!
