Is this any different from the format that 24 has used over the past few seasons? 24 has premiered in January and run through May without interuption for the past 2 seasons. Will this format be changing or is this announcement just confirming that they will be doing the same thing next year?

Yes, Finch, you are right...twice? Last year "24" ran consecutively. But the network wanted to stretch it out and get their money's worth (not that they are not getting their money's worth already...).
But they are resisting the temptation to spread out the season and will continue to run the show as a "limited-run" series. Which really is the way of the future, we think.
After all, what does a "season" mean now that television is a season-less slew of programs that start all year and end all year?

The "teaser" on your homepage mentions that the show will start up in the Fall but I believe it will start in January 2007 as previously announced. True? Nice site by the way.

I took a survey for ABC as part of their focus group on "Lost." In the survey they asked:
"Would you rather Lost air 7 episodes, then 7 repeats, then 7 episodes, then 7 repeats, etc. OR stay like it is and sprinkle repeats in with the new episodes?"
I responded: "You're idiots. Nobody wants the show to be interrupted at all. Run all episodes in a row like Fox does with 24 and everyone will be happy."
Maybe they listened?

If Mr. McPherson really feels ABC listens, why did they get rid of several quality shows from last season. ABC finally had some good shows, I had not watched much of that network for several years and boom they have a great couple of years with new shows and then to my dissappointment cancel two of the best shows on, Invasion and Geena Davis new Show, quality tv yes, but sadly I have read the info on the new shows and I don't feel interested in any of the ABC new shows. Also ABC has some cute and funny sitcoms like Hope and Faith, Freddie and they cancel them for what appears to be really lame shows. I don't think ABC is listening, everyone I talk to hated to see Invasion and Geena Davis's show go bye bye. Good luck I think ABC made some mistakes
