I too love " Men In Tree's". For me, it's my weekly "feel good" show, which I had lost with the finally of "Everwood" last season.
It's nice to see a bit of life outside the big city.
I'm no prude, but no sex, drugs, guns, rapes, murders etc. is an awesome change. Are we so dumb that we have to see everything that's going on, where as a simple implication is entirely lost.
It's just a "NICE" show and that's probably the problem.......
FYI: If anyone noticed, even in the bar, "most" of the time Marin drinks "WATER".
If ABC pulls the plug on this show, maybe I'll just pull the plug on ABC!!! Anyone care to join me???

I was hooked on this show after the first episode, and find myself looking forward to it each week. My whole circle of friends love the show, we are all older(60+), but we're not dead. We love the energy, hope, and nostalgia; who hasn't had a time in their life that could rival any scene in MIT? Network television needs this nature of show - the gentle nonviolent human experiences like Northern Exposure, Everwood, Men In Trees.

Although the pilot had its faults overall I thought it had an interesting premise, great cast & Anne Heche finally showed me that she is infact a great actress and not just some run of the mill 15 minutes of fame attraction(like she started out as back in her lesbo days). As I watched the following episodes for the show I grew to love it and found myself suddenly enjoying friday nights again on ABC. I really hope ABC doesn't let this show slip away by not renewing it for more episodes or even another season. I think this show has the potential to be a huge hit and hopefully is allowed to gain a steady fanbase and slowly build from there. Props to ABC - for giving viewers what they want, interesting & engrossing new programs that the audience can relate too and enjoy.

Sarah Strange and Suleka Mathew were what brought me to watch this show. They were great on DaVinci's Inquest! I was happy to see Abraham Benrubi get a larger part after all these years too.
So, I can't stress this enough: drop Heche and increase the storylines for the rest of the cast and the show will be much better. It is also depressing to watch such a "desperate" woman beg for a man each week.

I'm worried Men in Trees will be cancelled. What's with this new series premiering in MIT's time slot? I guess it makes sense if MIT is on hiatus for a while. Since moving MIT to Thursdays after Grey's Anatomy, I think it has faired better than it was on Fridays. I personally don't watch TV on Fridays since Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis have gone on hiatus, but since MIT's move, I've watched every episode. I just don't change the channel after watching Grey's. So I see why puting October Road in the slot might be a good idea to jumpstart the show. Everyone who watches Grey's may stay tuned to watch OR. Unless it royally blows. I just hope they bring back Men in Trees back to the Thursday timeslot. I like having my Thursday nights filled up again like old times. I haven't had a good Thursday night lineup since Friends started and ER ended Must See TV Thursday on NBC. Now I have Ugly Betty, Grey's, and Men in Trees to fill my Thursday evening. I sincerely hope it stays that way. I mean, OR may be a good show, and I may enjoy it emmensely, but I like the lineup the way it is now. Put OR elsewhere so I may fill another night with some good shows (again, assuming it is worth the effort...I do like that guy who stars in it who was on my beloved One Tree Hill as Jake). Bottom line: I really hope Men in Trees survives no matter what. It's a feel-good show that I enjoy watching. Nothing hurts more than having a show you love get canned! RIP, Firefly! Oh, how I wish Sci-Fi and Joss Whedon would have teamed up and revived the show like Sci-Fi did for Stargate SG-1. Look how well that one has done! 10 seasons strong with a successful spinoff.

I watched the new series October Road last night and wasn't completely disappointed. I still want Men in Trees back in that time slot, but I can forgive ABC if they kept OR there and moved Men in Trees to a different time. I just fear either OR or MIT will get moved to a slot that will interfere with other shows I watch. Such was the case when Grey's Anatomy got moved to Thursday and now interferes with Supernatural on the CW. Grey's beats out Supernatural only because I've more time invested in Grey's than the other. I just wait for Supernatural to be on DVD now. But I haven't had much time to be completely invested in MIT yet and am worried that I will miss watching it if it interferes with another show I've spent more time watching like Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, my Sci-Fi shows. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I can't imagine ABC will cancell MIT given the time they have taken to put MIT online for viewing, etc. I think they are trying to find the best time to air it. As much as I hate it when shows jump time slots all the time, I'd rather see it jump than lose it all together.

Since the first episode of MIT, I, like many others became in love with the characters. I actually became thoughtful about what the show's theme was that episode. There was always something to learn, and the twists are great, and leave me frustrated every week to watch what will happen next. If Marin doesn't go back to Jack, then I'm excited there's a new man in her tub. If Jack will stay with a girl who leaves him & gets pg with another guy, he's not good enough for Marin. If this show is being cancelled, it'll be like the Coca-Cola Company taking away Coke-Classic.

The only similarity I see between MIT and Northern Exposure, which I was a huge fan of, btw, is that they're both set in Alaska. That's like saying because House and ER are both set in hospitals they're the same thing. I love all the characters, except possibly Lynn. I was not thrilled with her appearance, but I LOVE Abraham Benrubi, and the story line with him, Teresa and Sara. The whole cast is great and I look forward to it each week. Oh, and someone else mentioned "What About Brian"...also a favorite of mine, as well as House, Bones, Gilmore Girls, ER, Monk, Psych, Dead Zone and many more. Each one has something different to offer.

This was a nice "feel good" show. Attractive cast, no blood, decaying bodies, no unrealistic medical situations or relationships. I was a surgical intern & resident and nothing existed near like "Scrubs" or "Grey's Anatomy". "E.R." is the only realistic medical show on T.V.and has stood the test of time, although it compressed one year's action into each episode, and some were impossible, like the two helicopter crashes. Back to "Men in Trees", the characters and situations were believable, the writing was improving, although the guy who ran the motel/radio station was sort of wimpy. It's too bad this good show with good acting was canceled. I hope they don't cancel "Brothers & Sisters" next, which is also one of my favorites. "Sex and the City" ?? Ugh!

I for one am getting SO IRRITATED with all of these networks that will air a show for around 8 weeks and then show a "SEASON FINALE" just when you're getting interested in the show's premise. Another show comes on, and just when you're getting into that, it's snatched away. No wonder we're all getting diagnosed with Adult ADD. I mean, come on. Most of us do have attention spans that are longer than two minutes, and actually look forward to sitting down and watching "our shows," and it's almost a personal violation when we sit down instead to a (shudder) rerun or something entirely different. What happened to the good ole days when tv programming was reliable? Even my tivo has trouble keeping up sometimes. October Road is actually a great show, and I look forward to watching it, but I'd look forward to it more if I'd been able to get a full season of MIT in, with a nice sense of culmination at its end. ABC, set a precedent for the other networks to follow.

Now I am bumbed. I'll never be a big Anne Heche fan, but I do like her in this show and I LOVE the other characters. The setting is first rate and I agree that the show would appeal to all of us former N.E. fans. I hope it comes back, maybe on another channel if ABC can't figure out where to run it. Men in Trees debuted on September 12, 2006 on ABC. Trees followed the Fall debut of Dancing with the Stars and attracted over 12.1 million viewers. The second episode lost a third of the audience and attracted just over eight million in its regular timeslot. Despite a season of ratings ups and downs, ABC renewed Men in Trees for a second year on March 21st.
Men in Trees has been off the air however since March 8th. ABC pulled the series to make room for the debut of October Road. Trees was originally scheduled to return on April 12th but ABC has reworked its schedule more than once, delaying the return each time.
ABC has now announced that Trees fans will have to wait a whole longer to see new episodes -- probably five months. The remaining five episodes of season one will now be part of Trees' second season, bringing the sophomore year episode total to 27.
Though frustrating and unusual, this isn't unprecedented. Grey's Anatomy and Boston Legal both had 27 episode sophomore years. There have been rumors that ABC may change their mind and decide to air the rest this season.

I read on the ABC.com Men in Trees blog that the show will not be back this season with new shows. They decided to use the timeslot to debut new shows the rest of the season. However, they are going to rerun the season starting in June, so anyone who missed the first 8 episodes due to being on Friday nights before switching to Thursdays can catch up from beginning to end. There were 5 episodes left to air this season, but they have opted to tack those episodes on the front of next season making it a total of 27 new episodes for season 2. Which means fewer reruns, I guess, more new shows. Can't go wrong there. But I do wish we could have finised out all the episodes this season. I don't even remember what the last episode I saw was about exactly or what happened. Bums me out a little not getting that traditional season ender that leaves you wanting to come back next season to find out what happens, but I suppose I'll just have to content myself with at least knowing Men in Trees will be back for another season.
