Cosby Critiques Parents, Teachers, Pets

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Mr. Jello Pudding doesn’t care about Fido. Bad joke. He REALLY cares about children, though. And we shouldn’t make light of such a serious issue. But then again it’s Bill Cosby. And he’s being so earnest.

His latest strike came Saturday at a forum called ''Education Is a Civil Right.'' Hundreds of Los Angeles-area parents, teachers and students attended the event at Maranatha Community Church.

Cosby, 69, was critical of black parents, saying they don't involve themselves enough in their children's education and don't know what their children are doing.

''We've got parents who won't check the bedrooms of their children to see if there's a gun,'' he said.

Right on. But hey, what about the lame white men who run this country? Can you blame the parents when the politicians don’t care either?

I like what Bill has to say about parenting - I just don't agree that it's only black parents - I believe it's true in all races. When we are in a world of kids taking guns to school and shooting people, kids raping their mothers etc - there is something seriously wrong.

Why, for goodness sake, should GOVERNMENT be responsible for people's kids? The PARENTS should have primary responsibility for their kids. Unfortunately, too many parents have abdicated responsibility for their kids to government schools and other civil servants.

If more parents took more than a passing interest in their kids, their kids' education, their kids' schools, their kids' teachers, and held those schools (private and government) and teachers responsible for doing a good job, then this would be moot because bad schools would either get better or be abandoned and bad teachers would find another line of work or collect welfare paid for by their gainfully-employed former students.

As it is now, parents turn their kids over to government schools and government union teachers and blame government (elected, appointed, and civil service) and "racism" for their kids turning out to be career criminals and drug dealers and gang members.

It's NEVER the parents' fault for their kids running wild!
