Kelly was absolutely right to say whatever she wanted - it's HER show, and he was being incredibly disrespectful - the comment she made was cleary meant to be a little mean but because he's someone she doesn't like, not because he's "gay", and she was also ABSOLUTLY RIGHT to tell Rosie where to get off this morning when Rosie suggested that she was homophobic.
A). Clay's not even out so if Rosie knows he is shouldn't she, as a gay person herself, know it's bad form to out someone else? and
2). In this day and age where any hint of gossip becomes fact in 60 seconds or less, how could she just accuse someone of being a homophobe?
ROSIE was UTTERLY DISGRACEFUL and KELLY had EVER RIGHT to do, and say, what she did.

I heard about this and then a friend pointed me to a video of Rosie O'Donnel talking about it.
Frank, either you are Rosie, or you're just repeating what she said.
Kelly has a right to be upset because
A) It's her show (And Regis')
B) Clay is a guest.
C) I doubt Mario Lopez would be so pompous to cover a woman's mouth when she's trying to talk. If he were to do that people would be all over him calling him sexist and misogynist.
Rosie called the remarks by Kelly Ripa 'homophobic'. Now, I thought Clay Aiken has stated that he isn't gay so that's a big oops on Rosie's part, assuming someone is something just because of how they act, but then again, lets see someone try to shut HER up by putting a hand over her mouth and see how she likes it.
Clay was wrong-so was Rosie

Clay was a little out of line here. Clay was a guest host, not the host. He should have acted like a guest. Putting his hand over Kelly's mouth was rude. And now that fat blob Rosie O'Donnell is trying to make it an anti gay thing, because of what Kelly said afterward. Someone ought to put their hand over Rosies mouthy..and keep it there!

Franks post sounds like he watched The View since that is what Rosie had to say about Mario and how Kelly would have reacted. I thought Clay was unprofessional and Kelly had every right to react the way she did. I can't imagine Clay doing that to another man who was talking. At least not on a talk show...wink

I thought Kelli was very polite in her comments about Mr. Aiken. He had no right to put his hand over her mouth during an interview. He's appalling. And Rosie over reacted to kelli's comments get real Kelli is not a Homephobe!
Plus it's kelli's show, get off her.

Dont we all wish we could tell Kelly to shut up once and a while? I am sure Regis fights the urge to cover kelly's mouth once in a while. It was bad form on both there parts. They are professionals and they should act like it. Kelly should of told Clay that it wasn't right during one of the shows many breaks, insted she talked about the event the next day live on the air, when clay can't defend himself. Clay might of done something that was taken the wrong way but kelly being a mom should know how to handle conflict. Rosie should talk about what she knows............. cookies candy bars and bad musical.

Had shoulder surgery and wasn't able to post early, but I saw both Live and the View. Kelly was positively RUDE to Clay and ignored him and any of his comments entirely if he was able to get a word in. No matter his sexual preference, he is an excellent singer and entertainer, is a southernly gentlemen and in general a PERSON and should be treated as such! Cupping Kelli's mouth was probably an impulse he had been resisting the entire show and I believe he really wanted to ask Emmett Smith a question, who wouldn't if given a chance. By the way, have you ever Tivoed Live and fast forward it to the part you really wanted to watch - you should, Kelly is like that Bunny that never runs down - it is hilarious Her mouth is going so fast and her arms and hands are whailing around like she was on helium. . . . . . very, very funny! I don't know how Regis stands to be on the same stage with her. I usually Tivo it if I think someone that I want to see is going to be on the show. Some one should make Kelly realize that Barbie wasn't real, so there's no way that she can be one! Come down to earth, Kelly. And, as far as it being the cold and flu season, does Kelly not wash her hands before she leaves the studio - just imagine how many germs she could take home from her co-workers! Wash your hands Kelly to help you kids stay free of colds and flu

Well, I USED to love Rosie, but then she called the producers at Lan and Order: SVU misogynst hate-mongerers, so I stopped watching the View... For some reason, she seems to think SHE is supreme empress of the world, and that anyone else's opinion doesn't matter or count. Clearly, as was evident from the finale of American Idol (that I didn't watch, just the clip), Clay Aiken thinks he is better than everyone else. If he weren't gay, and Rosie weren't a lesbian, they might make a good-couple, but they'd end-up killing each-other.
Side-Note: Had he done that on MY show, I would have bit his hand off.....

I'm confused. Isn't this actually Regis' show? And isn't Kelli (who referred to her as a diva???) being terribly disrespectful by constantly having to talk. She doesn't want a guest host. Why would she need someone when she's not going to allow him/her to speak!! Kelli is so full of herself, it's nearly disgraceful. Heaven forbid that Regis actually retires and leaves everything with Kelli. The show will be gone in two years, at most.

The conversation shouldn't even be about Clay/Kelly. It should be why can ROsie spout off about anything she wants. Look at what Michael Richards and Mel Gibson are going through. Now I realize their situations are more serious but it just shows the complete double standard here. Rosie has Carte Blanche. She should be fired and ignored.

Kelli needs to have her mouth cupped ever so often. She's always fighting for camera time.
She forgets the show has 2 hosts, even though Aiken was a guest host. If the producers only wanted her, they would have not asked for a guest host. If you saw the show, Clay Aiken could not get a word in edgewise. Kelly monopolized the interview with Emmitt Smith. Aiken was being playful and not disrespectful and wanted to say something. If it was Mario Lopez, Clooney or even Regis, she would not have said a word. Germs...that was an excuse. Germs are all over and not only on hands and she knows that. Kelly sees herself a cut above the rest. I watch the show in doses because Kelly annoys the heck out of me. I love Regis because he entertains. Regarding Rosie, she should have minded her own business because it brought more attention to the problem. I understand where Rosie was coming from since she is nurturing. I probably thought the same thoughts as Rosie, however, it added fuel to the already problem. If Kelly wants to play with the big boys, then she has to be a professional.
You would think she would have learned some professionalism from Regis...oops..I forgot...Kelly know it all!

wow,
I can't believe that people don't seem to like Kelly. She is the reason I started watching the show. She is freaking hilarious. I wanted to shoot Kathy Lee. She irritated the crap out of me. Kelly has added some life to the show.
As I was watching the thing with Clay Aiken (who I usually really like), I was speechless. I couln't believe how rude HE was. I think he was nervious, but come on. I think she handled herself well. When asked about it the next day by Regis, she was honest.
Rosie is a moron anyway. I think it was funny how she was saying that she is friends with clay and then outed him after he has been trying to deny it. That was hilarious.
