Megan Mullaly's Show Pulled

After just five less-than-stellar months, Megan Mullally’s syndicated talk show is closing its doors.

"I am extremely proud of the show we created and am thankful for the passion and tireless efforts of (executive producer) Corin Nelson and the entire staff," Mullally said in a statement issued by our parent company NBC Universal.

Too bad. We always thought a talk-show featuring W&G’s “Karen Walker” sounded like a good idea.
Unfortunately, Megan Mullally was no Karen Walker. And by that we mean, we still have a lot of respect for the work she does as an actress, but the talk show made her seem uncomfortable. She always seemed to look like she was late for work, and the guests had really gotten sort of pitiful.

In other Mullaly news, she was nominated for a SAG Award this morning for her work on “Will and Grace” and that’s something we can all get behind. Here’s to more acting, less talking.

I adore Megan - but I don't think this was a good venue for her. I thought she seemed uncomfortable too - the schtick seemed too predictable and contrived. I appreciate her attempt - she is a wonderful performer. I would love to see a new comedy written for her - that she could sing in.

Good riddance to this one! Her Karen persona & her grating, phony vocal squeak was annoying enough. Then having to see this ho-hum non-spectacular tv actress try her hand at something she clearly was uncomfortable with sometimes painful to watch (when I'd click on it for a few seconds on my way to something else).

Megan did her best. I think if she had employed "Karen Walker", it might have flown.

That character was so developed, I think her fans were waiting for"her" to show up more often :)

Alas! I know! Megan Mullaly and Tina Fey as sisters.... maybe Megan's a B'way performer, Tina her manager?

I think she's great but the show just never quite gelled. Hopefully she'll head back to Broadway or do another series.

Sorry to see that Megan's show tanked. She is a brilliant, multi-talented comedian; too bad they didn't employ a second banana as good as Karen Walker. Let's hope she'll get another series or some vehicle worthy of her talents.

The show sucked....no...really

I was not surprised at all; Don't get me wrong, I didn't wish for her show to be canned. I watched the very first show and I said to myself,"this ain't gon'na make it." There was an air of awkwardness; It felt as though she was in a very uncomfortable zone. Her speaking voice is not for hosting. loved her immensely in W&G, I thought she was awesome there.

I loved her character on Will & Grace but it was painful to watch the talk show. I tried to give it a chance but it was very annoying and tiresome. I hope she finds another long gig like she had on W&G. And was it me or was her voice just annoying on the talk show? I think I would rather have heard Karen's voice.

When one door closes, another one WIll open.Yes, the show did not succeed. Fret not Mullalay fans, this woman is a consumate performer. She is going to bounce back. I had faith in her stint on W&G and I believe her management will help her make a triumphant return!( I hate the word comeback!!) Keep going Megan, please. We miss you already!!!!

Although the show was not her greatest work; I did enjoy watching and I thought that it was only beginning to "gel" given time. In my time zone (AZ) she was up against soap giant All My Children! I hope to see her very soon in something great!

I Hope they let Karen have her own show!!!!!
