As fans of Jericho rejoiced last week when they received news that they’d saved their beloved show, supporters of other similarly troubled shows are taking note.
Today, Jack Myers at mediavillage.com has issued a call to arms for fans of “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”. He asks if there are any fans out there who feel like a show of such high quality and intelligence is worth saving, and if they’re devoted enough to start a campaign to prove it.
The Aaron Sorkin series was well liked by the press, and has a committed fan base, just like “Jericho”, but the numbers never picked up, and NBC cancelled it earlier this spring. And now Myers, who is a fan of the show himself, has challenged like-minded television viewers to take action.
On his website he writes: “If you're a fan, send (my) column to at least two other fans you know (or you believe are fans) and ask them to send it to their friends. Ask them to register their vote to save Studio 60 at www.mediavillage.com.”
Bravo’s highly anticipated new competition reality series Step It Up and Dance premiers Thursday,...

I would have agreed a month ago when they announced that the show was probably done. I was originally dazzled by its Sorkinesque witty banter and glib diatribes on everything from abortion to strippers.
But now i say to thee: Let it go. A week or so ago NBC began airing the six episode that had been produced but not aired and I have to say... let it go. The characters have gone from interesting to so insipidly conceited I catch myself rolling my eyes everytime Matthew Perry or D.L. Hughley open their mouths.
The story lines have been 'punched up' so high as to be ludicrous and have little or nothing to do with a behind the scenes at a sketch comedy show. And what's with the flashbacks? Does anybody really care about how a bunch of hollywood writers took the begining of the war in Iraq?
anyway, that's my rant for the week. thanks.

I think it's a long shot for this show to rise from the dead but I have to disagree with the first poster. I've enjoyed the latest episodes and I'm glad to get some sort of ending of the series.

Studio 60 is a smart witty intelligent show that moves at a very rapid pace. I enjoy the fact that I have to pay attention to catch the wit, sarcasm and verbal banter between the characters. The interaction between cast, crew, writers and execs gives us a rare insight as to what goes on behind the scenes. I really hope that NBC could find a way to renew and not ultimately cancel a show that is written as well as this one is. It would be a shame if a show like this goes by the wayside and other less enjoyable shows remain on the air.

I have become addicted to Studio 60 and hate the thought of not being able to see it anymore. I love watching a show about a show. It amazes me that The Office or 30 Rock could be more popular. PLEASE GIVE US STUDIO 60 BACK!!!

A really clever, sharp and well written show. The only quibble that we have is that it seems to be very "busy" visually somehow. It reminds us of the first "Star Trek" movie, where everyone spent so much time admiring the visual effects and backgrounds that nobody followed the plot.

One of the best shows ever on, they need to bring it back, especially when compared to the drivel they have in its place. I'm serious. Journeyman? Not a bad concept, of course Quantum Leap did it better, but it is in no way, Studio 60. It was one of the most TIVO'd shows and the fact is, that demographic is going to tivo shows and watch them when they can. The days of cancelling workaholic lives to see tv are long gone. The new world we live in requires new methods of evaluation and had we used those, Studio 60 would never have been cancelled. I am grateful that we did get some closure with the series, that is far better than nothing, but we shouldn't have to need closure in any case.

Studio 60 is one of my favorite shows...I hate that intelligent programming is too often pushed aside for "reality TV" and programs that cater to the bottom of the gene pool.
Hopefully the executives at NBC will give Studio 60 the opportunity to find its audience. I will certainly miss it if they don't.

Why do the studio execs cancel the clever, thoughtful, informed and honest works, and keep the gratuitous and dumbed-down schlock? (I know, MONEY).
Bring back Studio 60!

I used to be a HUGE TV watcher. There was a "must watch" show nearly every day of the week. Today, I can count the "appointment TV" shows on one hand...and most of those are on basic cable. I loved "Sports Night" and "West Wing" and "Studio 60"...and aside from "West Wing," I was disappointed at how the networks treated these great shows. Now the landscape is littered with useless "reality" shows. Give me something interesting (like "Monk" or "Psych") and I'll watch. Keep giving me "Kid Nation" and "Surivivor" and I'll watch "South Park" instead.
