1) Katie Couric's "CBS Evening News" would lose momentum after a few weeks and fall behind ABC and NBC. Isn't the best use of Katie in a one hour format, prime time, weekly newsmagazine?
2) Comedy Central's "South Park" would hit season 10 this Fall and still be "must TIVO" TV and generating headlines. You almost wonder if last winter's Tom Cruise-reported protest-against the "in the closet" episode is somehow linked to Cruise's dismissal from Paramount.
3) "Jericho," "Ugly Betty," and "Heroes" are the sleepers of the Fall TV season
- "Ugly Betty" is filling that void of an 8pm family comedy.
- "Heroes" is helping fill that void of a teen appeal drama (with returning teen idol Milo Ventimiglia and soon-to-be covergirl Hayden Pantierre) in the wake of shelved "The O.C."
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held over the weekend, and while many technical...

Why are you spurprised that Katie Coric and the CBS No News Tonight show has tanked in the ratings. Did someone really think that they could repair CBS's credabilty with someone who is best known for doing a morning show "happy news" wearing her anti-Bush bias like a lapel ribbon? Then, as a crowning touch, they eliminated almost all the hard news and turned it into a half hour magazine show maskerading as serious prime time news. Maybe they should go back and look at some old Cronkite or Huntly- Brinkly so they can see what they've done. Those show's never attracted a young audience and now they are chaseing away whatever audience remained. They still don't seem to understand that there are more than three channels now.
BTW - Shark is not serialzed.

I think they meant Smith, not Shark, since Smith got cancelled rather quickly.

Honestly, I wanted to like The Nine. But they just weren't spending enough time in the Flashback/Heist for me to stick with the show. I did find it somewhat compelling, most memorably the ending of the episode that played Coldplay's "Amsterdam" in the background. That sequence was amazingly shot and got me to watch for one last week.

I viewed five minutes of Friday Nite Fright, er Lights and nearly broke every light bulb in the house. What a piece of s_it! Nothing but a bunch of teens with hooker like mentalites. Heck, I can see that at a local high school games. At least it's live! I'll stick with the L & Os along with the CSIs! They are much more entertaining than watching teens groping and fawning over each other while trying to make like they're playing football!!P-U!!!!

It's not hard to imagine Lost losing much of its audience since the network and writers seem hellbent on driving us all away. I mean when will they understand that 24 does it right and should be mimicked. People like continuity. And as for storylines, the episode we all know that is coming where we see a Nikki/Paulo backstory is the last episode many of us watch. Answer some damn questions already.
Friday Night Lights, Prison Break and Heroes are great. Jericho can be great if they tightened it up which I am hearing they are doing.
Great site.
Katie Couric and Rosie and biased tools.

LOST is lost to me. After trying valiantly to keep up last year, I finally gave up and watched American Idol.
This year, I have no desire to jump back on the most confusing bandwagon of the season - and the shortest episode run. It is over already until next year.
What a shame that the creators did not listen to the fans last year when they started to complain about the chopped up episodes and lack of continuity. There is no point in doing a creative, unique show if no one is watching.

Lost will be back in February.
I agree that the Lost writers definitely have some commitment issues. They just can't seem to stick with a storyline long enough to resolve anything before coming up with something new. But it's still the most compelling drama on network television. The Nine and Jericho have tried to immitate, but they just don't measure up.
