#10 -- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
First Aired: 1973
Scheduled to air: ABC November 20 at 8pm
Things never really go well for Charlie Brown, and this show is no different. When Charlie decides to throw a Thanksgiving dinner, he makes the unfortunate mistake of letting Snoopy and Woodstock cook. When the two bring out toast and popcorn instead of a turkey, it’ll take a miracle (and a few good friends) to save the holiday.
#9 - Cheers Episode “Thanksgiving Orphans”
First Aired: NBC November 27, 1986
Okay, so they’re not the happiest of people, but sometimes it’s about more than heart, it’s about funny and Thanksgiving Orphans had plenty of that. When Carla tries to make Thanksgiving dinner with a monstrous frozen turkey and a houseful of dysfunctional bar flies -- things go bad. Best food fight ever.
#8 - The Brady Bunch "The Un-Underground Movie"
First Aired: ABC October 16, 1970
When Greg has to make a movie on the first Thanksgiving for history class, he enlists the family’s help. But the Brady kids throw a wrench in his plans because they can’t stop arguing over their parts.
#7 - West Wing “Shibboleth”
First Aired: NBC November 22, 2000
I think of this episode of "West Wing" a lot this time of year. I’ll be trying to keep the dog away of the turkey, my nephew’s muddy boots off from my new carpet and relatives away from each other’s throats and think I must be having the worst Thanksgiving ever. Then I’ll remember that I didn’t have to deal with a boat full of Chinese refugees, pardoning livestock, political appointments or a shortage of perfect carving knives. Hats off to you President Bartlett, for giving us all something to be thankful for.
