As your intrepid man on the ground, I’ve had my share of surprises at this year’s Television Critic’s Association Press Tour. It sometimes amazes me just how many shows a network can stuff onto the air in a given year. I’m excited about just about all of them. So let’s just jump right in.
MTV
- Adventures In Hollyhood -- Oscar Winning rap group Three Six Mafia move from Atlanta to L.A. to try to become major Hollywood players. This comedic-reality series was originally scheduled to premiere on 1/31 but will not debut on Wednesday March 14th at 10:30pm.
-DanceLife-- Jennifer Lopez produces and makes cameo appearances in a dance version of Making The Band. Six aspiring dancers learn how tough it is to make it as a professional dancer using Jennifer Lopez’s early struggles as inspiration. The new 8-part series debuts on Monday January 15 at 10:30pm as part of MTV’s new female focused Monday night block of programming.
-2007 MTV Movie Awards-- Emmy Award winning producer Mark Burnett will executive produce the MTV Movie Awards and broadcast it Live for the first time in its 16-year history. The sixteenth annual show will premiere live on MTV on Sunday June 3rd from Los Angeles, California.
VH1
I Hate My 30s-- The network has picked up eight episodes of the show, which uses the backdrop of a doctor's office to address issues faced by twentysomethings reluctantly entering their 30s.

In conjunction with Bravo's season premiere of "Real Housewives" this Tuesday, I decided to choose my favorite TV housewives.
Remember the debates about whether guys preferred Jeannie or Samantha? Boys have been asking themselves if they're more into Ginger or Maryann for years. I predict that after this smokin' second season of "Houswives" gets underway, men across the country will be trying to pick which Housewife is the top-rated MILF (remember American Pie?). For me, it's "Real Housewives of Orange County"'s Lauri.
I love Lauri. She has a kid in and out of reform school, and in season one, she could cheer herself up by going out to the Playboy mansion or dating her neighbor's estranged boyfriend. Now, that's just a hot mom.
Other attractive housewives in TV (both then and now) include: Teri Hatcher's Susan on "Desperate Housewives," she has her own klutzy appeal. Mel Harris' "Thirtysomething" wife Hope Steadman was so attractive I overlooked her chronic whining.
TV Lover was invited to the "Lost" panel discussion sponsored by the TV Academy in Los Angeles last week. There was a ton of great dish -- including producers saying the show won't last much longer. Check out the story in news, here.
