The CW rounds things out with “Aliens in America,” about a mom who offers to house a foreign exchange student, but didn’t realize he was coming form Pakistan.
But broadcast stations aren’t the only ones who think less might be more. Take a look at a couple cable channels trying the same thing.
TBS is offer their own one-camera with “Imperfect Union” about a guy and girl who both end up in the same switch plant and who think will undoubtedly fall in love.
Comedy Central and Jon Stewart give us “Three Strikes” a comedy about a minor league baseball team.
Showtime is showing off their ambitious line-up. “Insatiable” a comedy where everyone in a small town is addicted to something. “Manchild” with Kevin Smith, about four men heading for mid-life crises. They’re even having Tom Kapinos, from “Dawson’s Creek,” bring David Duchovny back to the small screen, though for what kind of show we’re not yet sure.
On the dramatic side of things, shows are ranging from light hearted relationship pieces to gritty court dramas as networks try to find the right balance of heart wrenching and heartfelt.
