Wow... I'm having a difficult time hanging on to some hope here for the "final" season. Why waste ANY of our times with Tony's near-death conversions last year, when he is still just a 14 year old punk who "slipped on that rug" as a reason for losing his drunken brawl. What an embarrassment. A joke.
So - Bobby killed his first victim. What was all of that in season 4 where he threatened that union rep with "a bullet here, here, and right here" then..? It's like the writers just said "yeah, they'll never go back and check... now, quick... let's connect all the parts as fast as possible.
Better to do it right than right-away. Or, perhaps, with respect to this "final" season - not at all.

I have a friend that is part of the Sopranos
technical crew. Everyone has had to sign numerous papers regarding the secrecy of the ending of the series. With a little arm twisting
and a promise that it wouldn't get back to him,
there's actually three endings that have been filmed. We'll start from where we left off with the Cleaver episode. Tony and Christopher's tension between the two will only get worse. Paulie is working with the two terrorists, behind
everyone's back, including Tony. they are trying to secure enough explosives and high powered
weapons to take out one of the tunnels in NY.
Carmella somehow finds out that it was Tony and
his crew that had Adrianna whacked. She gives
Tony an ultimatum "either get out now or she's going to the Feds". Phil on the other hand doesn't have Johnny Sack around anymore to keep
the peace and what better way to improve your legacy than to hit a boss(Tony). The last three
episodes will revolve around sedtting up Tony for the hit. Phil decides the best place is at Tony's house due to the lack of security. If you
look hard enough you can find the episode lines for the last show. It states that unexpected guests arrive at the Soprano house. The only ones home will be Tony, Carmella and AJ. Tony and
Carmella are both wounded and AJ and Tony are able to fight back and clear the house. Which leads to Tony putting out a hit on the entire NY crew. Sil finds out what Paulie is doing and
Paulie is whacked before the weapons can be delivered. The final episode takes place at an ice cream parlor in one of the most memorable
gunfights in televsion history. I won't reveal
anymore except a lot will die. Tony will live
and due to his cooperation with the Feds on the
Terror Squad he and his family(what's left of them) will be put into witness protection. David
Chase will tye up all the loose ends and give everyone what they've wanted.

Every long running show has a few boring episodes and occasionally a character you'd rather not have, but I am seriously distraught that the Sopranos will be no more after this season. I'm sure many of the actors were ready to put it to bed, but, new characters are capable of breathing new fire into shows that still have plenty to say. Too bad no one thought about bringing Michael Chiklis in (you know, from the Shield) to run amok and cause major damage, and maybe get rid of one of the most boring and idiotic characters of the entire show, Moltisanti.
So, HBO stops "OZ" and I along with millions were furious and make our protest heard, now the Sopranos out the window....I don't think HBO has anything left for me anymore. Guess you could say I've transferred my affection to FX, and guess what????? Doesn't cost extra.
Sorry to see you all leave, and if I had any wish at all, it would have been to see our morally frightened and ambiguous Carmela hit the sheets with Joe Penney. Good luck to all the cast members = hope each and every one of you made enough money that you don't have to "guest star" on The Wire.

Silvio drops a dime on the entire family...In the final courtroom scene, the prosecution calls to the stand Adrianna LaCerva to testify.

This is a complex show with great characters, storylines and shows the american dream gone bad, and the ME culture that prevails today. It cleverly makes you complicit in the crimes of the main characters by making you love and hate them at the same time. The program is actually watched by real wiseguys who love to compare tony and the clan to their own families.life imitating art imitating life. This show is brilliantly written and acted by all involved. It was never cancelled in that the studio put a stop to it, but instead chase wrote an arc for tony soprano that he originally intended to end last series but we're told he felt he needed a few more episode. Oh and you clearly see silvio take adriana into the woods, drag her out of the car and you hear the shots.Thats a directorial decision not to show her getting shot some ridiculous plot twist!
