Friday Night Lights: Save This Show!

NBC's "Friday Night Lights" truly is the best show on TV that you're not watching. It has surpassed all of my other season-pass TV shows as the first show I screen on my Tivo.

And everybody I know is also discovering it. The puzzling thing is that none of us can exactly articulate why this show is so fantastic.

Is it the moody, dark, indie-film-like camera work? Is it the unpredictable high school coming-of-age stories? Is it the blockbuster performances of the cast of mostly unknown teenage actors? Is it the convincing lead couple Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton as the coach and his devoted guidance counselor wife?

Is it the fact that like myself, people forget that this show is a weekly network drama and not a true documentary or a movie. It truly is much more than a regular TV show.
